Logo   Foreign Currency Exchange in USA
You can change money at international airports and a few banks, but the easiest way to get cash is just to use your home bank ATM cash card.

Only a few banks, mostly in Boston, are prepared to exchange foreign currency (with the exception of the Canadian dollar in areas near the Canadian border).

Foreign travelers would be well advised to have a bank ATM (Automated Teller Machine) cash card, or to buy US dollar travelers checks before leaving home, or upon arrival in the US, to solve the problem of exchange.

If you have a major credit card, you may be able to get cash advances at many banks and ATMs in New England, but you'll pay a lot in fees and interest.
