Beaches in Sandwich, Massachusetts
The many beaches in Sandwich MA face Cape Cod Bay, where the water is warmer than on the south (Nantucket Sound) side of the Cape.

The beaches of Sandwich, on Cape Cod, include Town Beach, the most westerly, and then, in order heading east along the shores of Cape Cod Bay, Spring Hill Beach, East Sandwich Beach, and over the line to the east in Barnstable, Sandy Neck Beach (map). A day-use fee is payable at most beaches in summer. Look for signs to the beaches on the side roads left (north) off MA 6A between Sandwich and Barnstable. All these beaches have toilets and places to park, most have lifeguards, and the Cape Cod Bay side of Cape Cod has generally warmer swimming than the Atlantic Ocean side. —by Tom Brosnahan
