NewEnglandTravelPlanner.com Logo   Mount Sunapee State Beach, Newbury
Lake Sunapee's biggest and best beach, with all the facilities (including lodgings) is at the southern end of the lake in the pretty little town of Newbury NH.

Lake Sunapee's largest and most popular beach is Mount Sunapee State Beach, 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Newbury at Chandler Brook (map), reached by an access road opposite the entrance to Mount Sunapee State Park.

A low per-person admission fee is charged, giving you access to all the facilities: bathhouse with changing rooms, showers and toilets; a shop for snacks and drinks, the sand beach, picnic tables, canoe and kayak rentals, and the broad, shallow swimming area with a gradual slope toward the lake.
