Sunapee Harbor is your first destination on Lake Sunapee because of all it has to offer.

The pretty town of Sunapee Harbor on the western shore of Lake Sunapee 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Concord, New Hampshire (map), is the major tourist center of the Lake Sunapee region.

This is where you board the m/v Mount Sunapee and m/v Kearsarge, lake boats that go on cruises around this beautiful lake daily in summer.

Hotels, inns, B&Bs, restaurants, ice cream shops and the Wild Goose Country Store provide for travelers' needs.

The former Flanders-Osborne Stable in the center is now the Sunapee Historical Society's Museum worth a look.

On Wednesday evenings in summer, free concerts are presented by the Town of Sunapee at the BenMere Bandstand on the hill at the town center.

Sunapee Harbor is also where the pure waters of Lake Sunapee flow out along the Sugar River. The short but pretty Sunapee River Walk takes you along the river from the lakeshore to the splash dam and reflecting pool, where you can cross the picturesque covered footbridge.
