Room & Meals Tax

The Vermont tax on rooms and meals is 6%, and the telephone area code for the entire state is 802.

Winter Driving

Roads are well maintained in Vermont in winter, but remember that the roads into the mountains are gradients, so it's best to have snow tires, or at least all-weather tires.

Dry gas, to prevent your fuel lines from freezing, isn't a bad idea either.

Skis on Cars

Vermont has a law which prohibits skis from sticking out beyond the normal width of the car.
